Tools for Selecting and Hanging Art in a Gallery Wall
I am so thrilled to be included in South Bay Magazine’s latest Home issue! Please check it out on their website here if you haven’t already. Below is the article full of ideas about how to select vintage art, how to frame art, where to buy the best art, and tips for what to hang in a gallery wall. And please view my past blog posts for more tutorials and step-by-step instructions on how to hang art and gallery walls: here, here and here!
I created this featured gallery wall for a client’s house in Manhattan Beach, California. I love that it has a mix of original oil paintings, original watercolors and some great prints. Some are traditional and some are modern and abstract. There is a even a palm tree photograph taken by her teenage daughter while on vacation in Hawaii and a painting of a lifeguard tower by her young son. There is a bit of blue in most of the pieces, which helps to keep it cohesive and goes well with the coastal look of this beach house. Some of the paintings were pulled from the inventory of my vintage art shop, Arts & Homes, and the other pieces of art we purchased for this house are from Minted, Artfully Walls, Domino and One Kings Lane.
