CULVER CITY, LOS ANGELES
If you’ve never been to Big Daddy’s Antiques and want a very cool interior design shopping experience, put it on the top of your list. I love places like this where things are displayed in such a way that many people wouldn’t think to use them in a house. It’s very inspiring, and a great place to bring clients who might be a little timid, to allow them to open their eyes to all of the interesting possibilities here. They combine found vintage items with pieces they fabricate and can customize for you. I was on the hunt for a big console table for a client’s house in Manhattan Beach, and there were so many good options that it was hard to choose. Many of their pieces feature a cool mix of materials including steel, concrete, rattan and vintage wood. They excel at one of my favorite looks: vintage industrial softened with unique textiles, worn leather chairs and sofas, and luscious plants throughout. It gives a really nice mix of old and new, modern and traditional. Happy hunting!
